Jawaharlal College of Engineering and Technology is a part of Nehru College of Educational and Charitable Trust, which was headed by Late P.K. Das, F.I.E., F.I. Mech. E., M.S. Engg., A.F.R.Ae.S. (London), C.Engg., a well known educationist, and philanthropist. The Trust was established at an auspicious moment in the year 1968, with the primary objective of rendering selfless, dedicated and yeomen service to the cause of higher education originally in the field of Aeronautical Engineering and subsequently in the field of rest of engineering branches, Management, Arts, Science, and Paramedical Sciences has added feather after feather to its cap. Its Educational service to the poor, underprivileged and downtrodden in the society is freely accessed and widely appreciated by the people, especially from Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Over the period of nearly five decades, it has established and patronized a number of prestigious Educational Institutions, all of which have grown to the stature of being accredited with ISO 9001 : 2015 certification by the International Certification Services. Boys Hostel
The college provides Hostel facility to the Boys students. The Hostel Rooms are spacious, well furnished and are well ventilated. Laundry services are also available in the Boys Hostel.
Girls Hostel
Jawaharlal College of Engineering and Technology, Palakkad provides Hostel facility to the Girls students. The Hostel Rooms are well ventilated and are well furnished. Laundry facility is also available in the Girls Hostel.
Medical/Hospital
The college has a Sick Room which provides First Aid facilities and other medical assistance to the staff members and the students during the time of medical emergency.
Library
The college has a Central Library which is fully computerised and is well equipped with modern facilities and resources in the form of Books, Printed and Electronic Journals, CD- ROMs, Journals, Periodicals, Magazines and Project Reports. The college Library follows the Open Access system to access the Reading material. The Books are Barcoded and scientifically classified into DDC (Dewey Decimal Classification scheme). The college Library has a Circulation section, Reprographic section, Newspaper Reading section, Technical section, General Reading area, Periodicals Section, Journal section, MBA Reference section, CD- ROM storage and Digital Library.
Auditorium
JCET Ottapalam has an Auditorium which has a seating capacity of approximately 800 people. The college also has Seminar Hall where a number of formal and informal events of the college take place throughout the year.
Transport Facility
The college has its own fleet of Buses which helps the students and the staff members to commute from one place to another place.
Parking Facility
JCET Palakkad provides Parking facilities to the staff members and the students to park their vehicles in the college campus.
