Sri Radha Krishna Goenka College, Sitamarhi being the first college of the district, popularly known as SRKG College, was established in 1949 by the then businessman Late Kamla Prasad Goenka who felt the need of a college in the area. It is a constituent unit of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University, Muzaffarpur and recognized under section 2(f) and 12 (B) of UGC Act. 1956. The college imparting teaching up to UG level in 15 subjects of Arts, Science and Commerce and upto PG level in ten subjects. Apart from the traditional courses the college offering vocational course in BCA under self financing scheme, it was introduced in the year 2002, moreover in keeping pace with time, job-oriented self financing degree courses in Biotechnology and B.B.A. were also introduced. The College has study centres of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) New Delhi, Nalanda Open University (NOU) Patna and Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) Hyderabad. This College has a sprawling campus of about 11.72 acres with a big playground, well-equipped library with a reading room facility, Laboratories, Smart classroom, Seminar Hall, Conference Hall, Language Lab, ELibrary and a Common Room separately for boys and girls.
