With the vision of imparting high-quality education along with ethical and social values, to cope up with the increasing demands of skilled manpower, by creating an ambient dynamic learning environment, the Islampur Government Polytechnic was established in the year 2015. Located beside NH 31 at Islampur, Uttar Dinajpur, the college is affiliated to West Bengal State Council of Technical and Vocational Education and Skill Development and approved by AICTE. Since its inception Three-year Diploma Courses in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Survey Engineering is being offered by the Institute.

Facilities

Classroom: Spacious, well ventilated, well-lit class rooms are available for all departments.

Smart Classrooms: Two state-of-the art smart classrooms are available with Audio- Visual teaching facilities.

Laboratory: All Departments (Survey Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering) are well equipped with modern Laboratories for Practical Classes with sufficient machines, equipment, Computers and work equipments. 

Computer Laboratory: State of the art Computer Laboratory with nearly 70 computers are available in the Institute.

Language Laboratory: A spacious language laboratory is available in which Govt. has sanctioned equipments, computers and accessories.                                                                                

Seminar Room: Seminar hall of more than 100 capacity is available with projectors and sound system.

Workshops: Workshops building is equipped with all machines and equipments as per academic requirement.
