The Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati (IIT Tirupati), established in 2015, is an autonomous Institute under Ministry of Education, Government of India. It is declared as an Institute of National Importance under the Act of Parliament of India (Institutes of Technology Act, 1961). The IIT system has 23 Institutions of Technology. The IITs are well known both nationally and internationally for excellence in education and research in engineering and science. The research and academic programs are handled by outstanding faculty members and the best students in the country take admission to the IITs. The prospective students have to appear in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) conducted on all India basis, which around 800,000 students take based on which around 200,000 are eligible for the JEE-Advanced examination. About 16,000 students are offered admissions in the B. Tech program in the IITs. Over the years, IITs have created world class educational platforms dynamically sustained through internationally recognized research based on excellent infrastructural facilities. The faculty and alumni of IITs have made huge impact in all sectors of society, both in India and abroad. The institutes are globally recognized as centers of academic excellence and are reputed for the outstanding caliber of the students graduating from these Institutions. Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati is the first among the 3rd phase of IITs, announced in 2014, to have its foundation stone laid in March 2015. IIT Tirupati started functioning with the support of its mentoring institute, IIT Madras, from the academic year of 2015-16. The academic program was launched in August 2015 by admitting students in the B.Tech programme in the fields of Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. The research programmes namely, the MS and Ph.D. programmes have started from the academic year 2017.

Boys Hostel : Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati boys hostel facilities include TV, indoor and outdoor games, washing machines, water heaters, water coolers, wi-fi, desktops, computer rooms, gyms, etc. Faculty members and teaching staff look after the needs of the students in the hostels.
Girls Hostel : The college provides girls hostels with comfortable accommodation to outstation students. The hostel rooms are well equipped with furniture, appliances and other basic amenities. Recreational facilities like TV in the common room, indoor and outdoor games are also available.
Medical/Hospital : IIT Tirupati medical facilities include first-aid. The college in collaboration with Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS), provides medical services to the patients, students, staff and faculty members.
Gym : The college provides a gym facility for both the boys and girls students. The gym is equipped with modern equipment for workouts.
Library : IIT Tirupati library facilities include textbooks and reference books on Engineering, Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, journals in the fields of Engineering, Technology and Life Sciences, popular magazines and e-resources. The library uses KOHA software for barcoding and circulation system and OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) to search and transact books online. The library is also a member of e-Shodhu Sindhu: Consortia for Higher Education E-Resources.
Sports : IIT Tirupati sports facilities include both indoor and outdoor games like chess, carrom, badminton, table tennis, tennis, cricket, basketball, football, volleyball, etc. Students are encouraged to participate for their physical and mental well-being.
I.T Infrastructure : The computer labs have numerous desktops, audio systems and short view projectors. The computers in the computer lab are equipped with the latest software like AutoCAD, CREO, MATLAB, ABAQUS, VIVADO, COMSOL, ORCAD, Ground Water Modelling System[GMS], INTEL FORTRAN COMPUTER, etc to help the students in performing experiments and programming. The entire campus including hostels and guest house is enabled with high-speed internet with a 1 Gbps line from NKN.
Cafeteria : The college cafeteria is very spacious and serves hygienically prepared fresh meals. Dining facilities are available in the hostels too.
Auditorium : IIT Tirupati auditorium facilities include the latest equipment like projectors, audio-video systems, etc. The auditorium is very spacious and can accommodate a large number of people.
Wifi : The college campus is enabled with the high-speed internet. Students and faculty members can access the wi-fi facility for academic and research activities.
Classrooms : All classrooms and lecture halls are well-furnished and enabled with acoustics. IIT Tirupati classroom facilities include computers, projectors, audio-video systems, wi-fi. Virtual classroom and video conferencing facilities are also available.
Laboratories : Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati laboratories are well-ventilated and are equipped with modern equipment. Experiments related to societal issues like Natural products: Tea leaves (extraction of caffeine from different brands of tea available in the market), Pharmacy: Aspirin (making a medicine), Food world: Citrus fruits (acidity of different fruits), etc are practiced by the undergraduate engineering students to make the practical sessions interesting.

Candidates first have to meet the eligibility criteria.
Next, candidates have to appear for JEE Advanced.
The conducting body will declare the result.
After that, Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati will release the cutoff.
Candidates meeting the cutoff have to appear for counselling, conducted by JoSAA and select IIT Tirupati.
Seats will be allotted according to the ranks secured by the candidates.
Finally, candidates have to submit the documents and pay the fees to confirm IIT Tirupati admissions.
