Institute of Engineering and Technology, Lucknow (here after called “IET) (popularly known as the-“Engineering College” in Lucknow) is one of the premier and top ranked institute among all technical institutions associated/affiliated to Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow (here after called “AKTU”). IET was established by the government of Uttar Pradesh in 1984 as a society governed Institute. The Institute is financed by Government of Uttar Pradesh and is being administered by the Executive Council of AKTU.IET Lucknow was started as the ‘Faculty of Engineering and Technology’ of University of Lucknow. Initially in the year 1984 it offered B. Tech. Degree in three programs namely Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering. In the subsequent year, two more programs i.e. B. Tech. in Civil Engineering and B. Tech. in Mechanical Engineering came into existence. The Campus was developed by Uttar Pradesh Rajkiya Nirman Nigam Ltd (UPRNN) on a 100-acre (0.40 km2) land provided by the government of Uttar Pradesh. IET campus comprises of Administrative Blocks, Academic Blocks, Boys’ and Girls’ Hostels and nearly 100 residences for Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff Members. Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) provided required support for construction of external roads, electric supply, drainage and sewage for the Institute.

COMPUTER CENTER

Computer centre has latest configuration desktop PCs on network controlled by server. Also the operating systems like Linux, Windows etc., various application software and database management system are available. The computer centre has the central power back up and will remain available to students at least 12-14 hours every day.This facility will cater to the need of all students & help them learn developing innovative program/software when they are young. The computer centre also has the highspeed internet connection for the students. Campus has 3 Mbps internet facility. All laboratories, faculty room, other section & hostels have Wi-Fi enabled internet facilities.

Language Lab

The twenty-one-terminal lab is equipped with the latest, automated language lab system having the facility of voice recording, playback, one-on-one interaction etc. It is extremely beneficial for language learning and the enhancement of effective communication skills. The language lab is powered by Orell's digital language lab.

Curriculum Lab

Curriculum lab The college has a well-equipped curriculum laboratory which provides a place for the student teacher to engage in doing rather than being passive observers or recipients of knowledge for the teaching-learning process. It has various resources such as textbooks, an interactive whiteboard, Curriculum software packages, multi-disciplinary instructional materials, and supplementary educational material to support curriculum planning and developing lesson plans for creating various manipulatives needed to carry out a lesson. The student teachers can also use educational kits and games for class presentations.

LIBRARY

The learning and resource center (Library) is the hub of all intellectual and academics. The library has a large pool of resources viz. latest world class Marcel Dekker series of pharmaceutical sciences, Indian and international journals, Pharmacopoeias (USP, BP, IP, EP) and many more that makes it as diverse as pharma industry.Besides periodicals and references we keep the students up-to-date with the latest through the digital library that includes CDs, audio-visual, internet section, reprographic section.

AUDIO-VISUAL CENTRE

Our Institute has a fully air-conditioned AV centre for lectures, seminars and demonstration by the regular and visiting faculty members with all modern communication aids like Overhead projectors, Slide projectors, Wide screen TV's, Video representation and central audio system for quick and better assimilation by students. Seminars on a variety of subjects are organized by a blend of experienced and new generation highly talented faculty members.

Academic Block

The academic block comprises 32 classrooms equipped with LCD Projectors and different types of laboratories. The entire academic block is wifi enabled and equipped with ultramodern facilities. Block contains one multipurpose hall of 2000sqft. to conduct different types of in-house activities.

Administrative Block

The Admin Block houses offices of the Principal, Secretary, Registrar, College Administration, Accounts Section, Teachers’ Staff Rooms and Seminar Room with 5 multi-purpose small rooms. At the entry of Admin Block a reception area welcomes the students, staff and other persons who seek to enquire something in relation to the college. The reception would be provided with an exclusive staff, with telephone and computer facility. The entire block has been specially painted and has been provided with new modular furniture. A pantry has also been provided in the Block.

Smart classes

Smart class nowadays is the essence of college. In this concern, the college has set up a SMART CLASS which provides e-learning e-lecture and media presentations to the students.

The institute provides hostel and mess, embedded with all modern facilities. Separate arrangements is available for girls and boys. 24 hours internet and Wi-Fi facilities is available in hostel. The security issue of all the students can't be compromised, so they remain under the supervision of wardens and the hostel is regularly guarded by the security staffs.

TRANSPORTATION

We have buses and other vehicles available for transportation. Our drivers are specially trained to deal with students softly so that any undue impact can be avoided on the student's minds. The transport facility is available from different points of Lucknow City.
