St. Joseph's College, Irinjalakuda is a school for ladies, subsidiary to the University of Calicut and overseen by St. Joseph Educational Society of the Congregation of Holy Family. The Congregation was established in 1914 by the visionary enthusiasm of Blessed Mariam Thresia, a pioneer in the field of family apostolate, exalted on ninth April 2000.The establishing of the school in 1964 under the capable administration recently Mother Josephine, the Superior General, was a significant occasion throughout the entire existence of the Congregation. The College, which is a response to the consistently expanding interest for advanced education among youngsters, was reaccredited in the third cycle at A level in 2013 by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) - an independent establishment under the U.G.C. The school was granted Autonomy in March 2016. The school was allowed the status of College with Potential for Excellence by UGC in April 2016.
