Kottureshwara College started in the year 1967, is one of the reputed college in this region, serving for the betterment of the student community, and giving fruitful higher education to the rural students. Though the college is situated in the rural backward region of Hyderabad Karnataka, has achieved lot during these 55 years. Kottureshwara College is the first rural college of Ballari district and is located on an elevated and open space area of 13 acres, donated by a great philanthropist and staunch Gandhi follower Sri K.S. Eswaragoud. The college began humbly with 100 students and 5 teachers of both science and arts faculties in four blocks of building with 2 laboratories and a small library. In spite of its financial inadequacies, the college has taken big strides of rapid development to cater the educational needs of the region over the years. The sublime mission of the Institution is to provide qualitative higher education to one and all with a special impetuous to rural folk deprived of higher education. The college is aimed at providing quality education to keep pace with the changing times, enabling the students to acquire necessary skills to sustain themselves and make a meaningful contribution to the humanity at large. Further, the policy frame work, the calendar of events, the programmes offered, academic activities, the research and extension programmes of the college are well designed and executed to achieve the mission and goals. To realize the dreams and to achieve the goals, we are highly guided by frame work of NAAC for intensive self – analysis.
