Nirmala Sadan is a foundation committed for the Education and Rehabilitation of people with mental hindrance and it is controlled by Franciscan Clarist sisters in the Diocese of Kothamangalam. The Institute has an unassuming start with 8 kids in a lease free working in the year 1985. Later it was moved to the present site which was given by the Bishop of the Diocese of Kothamangalam. The foundation which is situated in Muvattupuzha – Thodupuzha course is 3km from muvattupuzha town. It is in Avoly Grama Panchayath of Muvattupuzha Taluk in the District of Ernakulam. The different units of Nirmala Sadan are enlisted under Vimala Mahila Samajam, the beneficent society.
