Vimal Jyothi Engineering College (VJEC) is an educational project of the Archdiocese of Thallassery established in the year 2002 and is managed by Meshar Diocesan Educational Trust. The college is approved by AICTE and affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University ( KTU). VJEC is a self-financing catholic minority institution aiming at Generate a fervor for Engineering and Technology in students. Here we inspire, nurture and foster them to realize their career potential in the field of Engineering and Technology.

With profound insight into the resource requirements of the higher education system, VJEC has proudly set up world-class infrastructure complemented with intellectual capital in the form of competent faculty. Many of the facilities are way beyond the regulatory requirements aiming for learning beyond the syllabus to address the requirements of the industry. Admission Process for Vimal Jyothi Engineering College 

• The Admission process will be on merit basis and seats will be allotted based on the Open Merit rank. Candidates should wait for the call from the admission cell of Vimal Jyothi at the stipulated time frame as per their rank and branch preference.

Eligibility Criteria

• Passed HSE of Kerala Board of Higher Secondary Education or equivalent board with at least 50% in Mathematics and 50% in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/equivalent subjects put together or equivalent grade.
  

Admission Process 

• 50% of the B.Tech. seats in all the member colleges of KCECMA is allotted by Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE). Students will be eligible for admissions if they qualify KEAM CEE. 
• The students must first register to generate a new user id and password.
• A scanned image of a recent photograph, signature and an impression of the left thumb must be uploaded.
• Fill in the application form with the choice of course, personal & academic details, along with caste certificate and details of income.
• Pay the fee online or through an e-challan, a printout of which must be kept for future reference.

Boys Hostel

The college has a boys’ hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students.

Girls Hostel

• The college has a girl's hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students.
  

Medical/Hospital

The College having Infirmary serves as a place for providing first-aid for treating minor cases such as minor cuts, wounds, etc. This place also serves as a resting place for sick girls. Facilities are provided for monitoring blood pressure, temperature, and BMI. All the major medical emergencies are referred to the nearest hospital under the existing MoU regarding the usage of the ambulance and medical care.

Library

The college Library System at the initial stage of College with 2000 books. The JVC library system consists of a central library and five departmental libraries that collectively support the teaching and extension programs of the institute. The Library and Information division of Vimal Jyothi Engineering college offers its services to about 1200 users comprising students of different branches of Engineering and faculty from various departments of the college and neighboring institutions. The primary mission of the library is to support the educational and research programs of the institute by providing physical and intellectual access to information, consistent with the present and the anticipated educational and research functions of the institute. Following the objectives of the institute, the library aims to develop a comprehensive collection of documents useful for the faculty and the student community of the institute. The library uses Greenstone digital library software for our digital library services. The library is in the process of installing Dspace Software for our institutional depositary services. The collection of the library includes books, journals, standards, and patents in the field of science and technology and books of general interest catering to the personality development of the user community. The books are arranged in six different sections. General, Reference, Book bank, and Special Collections.

Transport Facility

The College provides a transport facility to almost all the main towns of the district.
