Dhemaji Polytechnic is an AICTE approved college for Technical Education and Government institution affiliated to State Council for Technical Education (SCTE), Assam situated at Simen Chapori of district Dhemaji, 787061, Assam. It was established at 2017. Currently, it provides quality education in three branches of Engineering Departments namely Mechanical, Civil and Electrical. It has the strength for 180 students (60 students in each branch) selected every year through PAT examination. Dhemaji Polytechnic has some very well qualified faculties who continuously guide and work tediously so that each student can excel in any field they step upon. Dr. Pranab Jyoti Lahkar is the first and the present principal of this institute.
Dhemaji District is one of the districts situated in the remote corner of North East India on the north bank of river Brahmaputra. The boundaries of the district are the hilly ranges of Arunachal Pradesh to the North and the East, Lakhimpur district in the West and the river Brahmaputra in the South.
Simen Chapori is a village panchayat located in the Jonai subdivision of Dhemaji district of Assam, India. The latitude 27.7174 oN and longitude 94.9039424o E are the geo-coordinates of the Simen Chapori. It is a place rich in culture and people living speak and practise different traditions and cultures. A surrounding of harmony and brotherhood exists and the local people use Assamese, Bengali, mishing and Bodo languages for communication. Simen Chapori has a railway station just at the centre of the sub town. Its nearest airport is at Dibrugarh just 85km away. Simen Chapori is well connected by Bogibeel Bridge to towns like Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Sibsagar and Jorhat. It is also surrounded by hills of Arunachal Pradesh and the capital city Itanagar is also only 141 km away. Hostel
Dhemaji Polytechnic has hostels that are separated into blocks for the boys and girls on the campus. Dhemaji Polytechnic hostel facilities have well-furnished rooms equipped with basic facilities.
