Payyanur College, Payyanur is one of the premier institutions of higher learning in Malabar, North Kerala. Currently affiliated to Kannur University, and re-accredited by the NAAC with ‘B+’ grade in 2018, this postgraduate college caters to the higher education needs of over 1800 students, most of whom hail from the economically-weak families of the rural areas around Payyanur. The college offers undergraduate courses in 14 disciplines, postgraduate courses in 5 and PhD Programmes in 5. The establishment of the college in the village area of Edat in 1965 led to the materialization of the higher educational dreams of thousands of youngsters during the past five decades. The college holds an enviably-high performance record in curricular and co-curricular activities.

Candidates seeking admission at UG level must have completed their 10+2 level education from a recognized board of education.
At the PG domain, candidates must have completed Graduation in related fields from a recognized University/ Institute.
Candidates who have completed Post Graduation can apply for a research program i.e. P.hD after qualifying All India Entrance Examination (UGC - CSIR NET, UGC- NET JRF) comprising written test and interview.
Selection to PG courses is based on merit obtained in the previous examination.
Candidate has to fill an application form and the selected candidate has to present in the interview.Admission to the course will be based on merit as per university norms.

Candidates can visit on the date of admission with required documents.BA: Candidates must have Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) qualified from a recognized board of education.
B.Com: Candidates must have Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) qualified from a recognized board of education with min 45 % marks (A concession of 5% will be given to those who belong to the SC, ST and other backward communities).
B.Sc: Candidates must have Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) qualified from a recognized board of education in science stream.
Boys Hostel
The college has a boy’s hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students.
Girls Hostel
The college has provided a hostel facility for the girl's students. It is situated very near to the college.
Medical/Hospital
The college has a health center with a first aid facility for the students.
Library
The college has a well-stocked and a well-furnished library is provided. The library has sufficient periodicals, magazines, journals, and news bulletins. etc.

The college has sports facilities for all the students.

The college has computer lab consists of adequate computers with all required software and other accessories that are aimed at the promotion of computer-assisted learning/e-learning.

The college has a departmental based laboratories facility for the students as follows: Psychology Lab:- Psychology being the most important part of the B.Ed. Curriculum. The college has provided a well-equipped and organized psychology lab, aimed for the better development of each teacher-student. Science Lab:- The science lab of the college provides facilities for experiments for school-level students.

College provide 98% placement opertunity for students. They not provide internship program. The well stated students got placement oppertunity to good companies in aviation sector. The internship in not given to the students.
Many of the major banks came here for placements. And also many students got placed in reputed banks. Also some channels conduct campus interview for the students. Some of the students got placed in popular Malayalam channels recently.In Kannur University, Payyanur college in Edat is the one of the best college. You will get many job opportunity by under the name of the college itself. Thete is no placement in college. But you will get a suitable job for the reason this collegeThe job opportunities are as the result of the students am a student now i have not finished my college after finishing my college i will look after the job. but the job opportunity in this college is very good.
My college provides internship, many famous companies like Nokia,Samsung and other electronics companies came to our college.Most of the companies gave 15000 per month as stipend.the experiences in those companies was very good.Placements or job opportunities as such isn't provided in our college and as such, we do not expect so. However, it is suggested that students go for higher studies after completion of their graduation. Or else, they have to opt for government jobs.
