The advantage of instruction, not to mention advanced education, was a far off dream for the destitute individuals of Virudhunagar district until the nineteen forties. In June, 1947, building up a College in Virudhunagar was mooted at Nadar Mahajana Sangam meet held at Kovilpatti.

To run the new foundation, a little advisory group was framed with Mr.W.P.A.Soundrapandian Nadar as President, Mr.P.S.Chidambara Nadar as Vice-President, Mr.V.V.Ramasamy as Secretary and Correspondent and Mr.M.S.Periasamy Nadar as Treasurer.
