Tamil Nadu permission (G.O.No:319 Higher Edu. (E1) Dept. Dt 12.09.05) and University of Madras affiliation, the school was inaugurated by the government minister Hon. Prof. K. Anbalagan on seventeen.07.06).Loordhu Ammal instructional Trust was supported within the year 1999 by Dr. S. Peter, Founder and Chairman of Madha cluster of educational establishments. this is often a registered Christian Minority Trust. this is often managed by Mrs. P. Mercy Florence, B.E., M.S., D/o Dr. S. Peter. The Trust was started as a mission to supply education to all or any. “The true University of these days is a Collection of Books”. Vidhya Sagar Women’s College plays an important role in the upliftment of women. Creating an awareness is women about their rights and privileges is one of the mottos of Vidhya Sagar Women’s College. Therefore the college has placed great emphasis in educating the girls from the poorer sections of the village communities. The Library is a platform for self development, a gateway to knowledge and catalyst for imagination.Library is the Heart of Every Institutions. Our Library is well equipped with Books, Textbooks, Journals, Periodicals and Newspapers etc. Our Library contains more informative collections of books required for the Staff and Students. And arranged in a systematic way for their easy access. Existance of resource in our Library includes collections of books is 11,100, Journals (National and International) – 34 and Magazines – 15.
Transport
A full-fledged Transport department functions in the college with buses to provide transport facility to students and staff from various places. This service is offered ensuring a hassle-free and safe transportation.The College runs 23 buses for providing transport facility to students from various places in the city. The number of buses will be increased corresponding to the increase in the intake of students.
Hostel
Hostel as a residential unit can develop community living, provide security especially for women students whose increasing mobility to seek education is overwhelming. Keeping this in mind, the college has set up a hostel on campus for our students with many facilities. Spacious, airy and ventilated rooms with adequate lighting create a wonderful ambience for the students staying here. The residents have a conducive atmosphere for studies and live and grow together as one family.
Canteen
The objective of the Canteen and meal service is to protect by reducing the risk of food borne illness, with proper sanitary conditions and preventing adulterated food. The College Canteen has been functioning efficiently from the beginning of the college. The canteen is located inside the College. The hostelers and day scholars are provided meals by assuring food safety and quality.The students who come from faraway places, start their journey to the College early in the morning. For them mid-day meal is provided. Even many day-scholars use canteen facility for their breakfast and evening tea with snacks. Our hostel students are provided with three meals a day, bed coffee and evening tea/coffee.
Solar Plant
Solar Panel System was installed during the year 2013 as the college was subject to frequent power cuts, thereby posing a constraint to the functioning of labs and conducive environment for students.It generates 5 KW. Such an initiative on the part of the management has enabled uninterrupted power supply to the advantage of the students.
Reverse Osmosis Water
Reverse osmosis (RO) is a membrane technical filtration method that removes many types of large molecules and ions from solutions by applying pressure to the solution when it is on one side of a selective membrane. The result is that the solute is retained on the pressurized side of the membrane and the pure solvent is allowed to pass to the other side.College has its own mineral water (RO) plant in the college campus. Entire college is supplied with the mineral water from the plant. It provides healthy and clean drinking water to staff and students. This water is provided to the classrooms, laboratory, hostel and mess.
