Shri. Nemugonda Dada Patil, younger brother of Shri. Babagonda Bhujgonda Patil, the first champion of the Jain community in Sangli, was born on January 18, 1910 in Samudri, Dist Sangli. He trained until the fourth hour. He married Rajmati. He had a keen eye for the future. he was cautious. In the pre-independence era, women played subordinate roles in the family and society. The people were Orthodox. Nevertheless, he had sent his wife Rajmati to a training college in Pune for further higher education. Although Nemugonda Patil was a socially well-to-do man, he supported his wife Rajmati to work in the education field. He was intelligent and eager to experiment. With the help of his uncle he established 'Shivaji Chup Sugar Mill'. He was visiting Japan to inspect the work of his cottage industry. At that time, Japan was very important in the mechanical and manufacturing industries. He then founded a rope manufacturing company. At the same time, we launched the brand 'Ratnakar Pohe', a manufacturing unit located at Vishrambagh, Dist Sanri. He was a pioneer in the field of agriculture. He conducted numerous experiments in viticulture. He loved growing grapes. His success was that in front of his house he planted 450 to 500 grape-bearing vines. He irrigated his farm with sprinklers in the summer. Nemugonda Dada Patil was known for his enthusiastic personality. He was the first director of the Jain boarding house in Sanri established by the Dakshin Bharat Jain Sabha. He ensured the continuity of publication of magazines such as 'Pragati' and 'Jin-Vijay'. He was appointed 'Mahamatri of Dakshin Bharat Jainism'. He was outspoken and brave enough to do something worthwhile and adventurous.
