Prajyoti Niketan is an International Centre for Research, Training and Service in Wholistic approach. It is a Registered Christian Charitable Society (Regd.N.806/91). Prajyoti Niketan Society owns and manages its College. In 1994, Dr.K.R.Narayanan, the then Vice-President of India laid the Foundation Stone for Prajyoti Niketan and in 1996, Dr.Sankar Dayal Sharma, the then President of India initiated our Holistic Health Care Facility.
Prajyoti Niketan College sanctioned in 1994 and started in 1995,is affiliated to the University of Calicut and Govt. Aided. Mere career specific can cause unemployment. Hence, we set up mainly entrepreneurial and service oriented courses to encourage healthy progress. By dint of hard work our students stand to gain as our Vision, Mission and Values shape everything to their advantage. From the very inception of this college Holistic Approach had been our main thrust. In Holistic approach the whole is greater than the sum total of all its parts put together; i.e. the greater powers of a wholesome personality compared to its unwholesome state. It can be written as “Holistic” (Greek) or as “Wholistic” (English).
At Prajyoti Holistic approach, thus leads the field and it comes into its own to countermand party politics, strike, ragging and other newfangled trivia. We encourage proactive programmes. For at Prajyoti education means formation of the whole person with excellence. We are reckoned among the best Colleges with the highest Ranks in the University of Calicut; but the First Rank in all the Courses offered was a rare honour Prajyoti alone could claim.

Candidates applying online in Prajyoti Niketan College must necessarily send a hard copy of the complete application form along with all attested photocopies of all relevant documents to the institute campus.
For UG courses, candidate must have passed 10+2 examination from a recognized board for eligibility.
For PG courses, candidate must have obtain Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline from a recognized university for eligibility.
Candidates appearing in their final year exam of the qualifying program are also eligible to apply and will be granted provisional admission.
Admission to MSW is done on the basis of entrance exam conducted by institute followed by interview.
Admission to UG and PG courses is done on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination followed by Interview.
Management candidates can seek direct admission to the program.
All candidates except those apply for the 20% seats under management quota are selected on the basis of merit of marks of the last qualifying exam followed by personal interview.
Admission to Ph.D. is done on the basis of entrance test followed by Interview.
For Ph.D., candidate must have passed Master’s degree in relevant discipline for eligibility.
Reservation is provided as per norms set by University of Calicut and the State Govt. of Kerala.The basic eligibility criteria for admission to the UG programs is a pass in 10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognized board. Only pass at 10+2 with science stream candidates are admitted to the B.Sc. program. For admission to the B.Com. Program, candidates are required to have studied at least one Commerce subject at 10+2 level. Selection of candidates is done on the basis of 10+2 merit, followed by a personal interview.
Candidates seeking admission to the UG courses must fill the application form online and send a hard copy of the same to the institute campus. The application fee can be paid using credit/ debit card or net banking. Those wishing to pay the application fee through DD can send the same along with the hard copy of the complete application from.
Cafeteria
The college has a cafeteria that serves hygienic and nutritious food & beverages to students and faculty members. The price of the food & beverages served is also reasonable.

The library of the college has a large number of books, journals, periodicals etc. Prajyoti Niketan College Thrissur library has both printed and digital resources for students and faculty members.

From my batch students were given the roles of risk manager, security analyst, investment manager, equity research analyst,money market dealer and investment banker. Top recruiting companies were ICICI banks, HDFC bank, Merchant banking companies, Accounting firms and many other educational & industrial houses. The highest package offered was 16 lpa while the average ranges from 4 to 5 lpa. Summer internships were also offered by the college in business consultancies and foreign trade banks with the minim um stipend of 15,000 per month.We can choose where ever we need to do internships. College support students in such cases. Also, college to provides internship options for the students We did internships at CTCRI, Larkcs lifelink, and Kerala Agricultural University which gave us immense practical knowledge.There are many companies that visit Prajyoti Niketan College. The placement process is based on the marks of the students as well as their performance in the interview.The placement makers invites various companies that will recruit us (students) in their companies. The internship are also provided to the students, but it totally depends on students that weather they are interested in doing internship or not. But the internship is compulsory.The training and placement cell did conduct our developmental training for some time towards the end, but there were no campus placements. However, we found good jobs with decent packages in companies.The placements and job opportunities weren't that great, I heard. We anyway didn't have placements after graduation, so that's something I don't have much idea about. But there were no campus placements.
