Depelchin (Rector: 1860-1871), in the Founding Father of the second St. Xavier’s, They shifted St. Xavier’s from Chowringhee to the Sans Souci Theatre in January 1860, which is now the honest home of learned professors and zealous students.With one hundred and sixty three years of service to the nation, St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata, has grown today into a leading educational institution in India. Both St. Xavier’s School and College are proud of their contribution to the cause of education and culture in Bengal for 163 years. These twin institutions have produced many great educationists and students who earned regard and respect for their Alma Mater.Fr. E. Lafont was appointed Rector in October 1871, He was a gifted teacher of physics. The terrible cyclone of November 1864 proved the begging of his fame. The catastrophe might have been much greater, had not Fr. Lafont signaled the timely warning.

My college does not have an internship of placement opportunity. Those students who excelled in their exams and show actual potential are offered job as a lecturer in the college itself. This is an amazing opportunity for the students.The placements at Jagiroad College are good the students get placed in good companies and the average package is around 3.5-4 lakhs p.a. A number of internship opportunities are also provided. Certain number of students also choose to go for further studies.The college does not provide placements. The college provides a one-year compulsory Internship that is suggested by the college for practical knowledge and a better understanding of the law in which students get very less stipend is provided.Placement cell is good every year many students got placed from our university. The college holds a decent placement record. Training regarding cracking the interviews is given to all students, various kinds of internships especially to the students as well.The course structure is as good as the faculties and both are giving us a better education and the colleges providing us with the amazing academic but not providing us with the internship and no Stipends are provided by the college.No there are no placements or internships that are provided by the college but the college trains you so well in these three years that after graduating when you go for jobs then you are able to ace the interviews and get the job.As it was art stream, placement was not available for us. Many of the students studied here go for the competitive examinations or further studies.
