Gour Mohan Sachin Mandal Mahavidyalaya was supported by Dr. Satyendranath Naskar, M.A.(Double), B.T. , Ph.D. , a torch-bearer within the field of education of the backward community, a celebrated specializer, a social reformer and erst Principal of this College(1968-1994). within the year 1968 Late Sachindranath Mandal, the son currently Gourmohan Mandal of the village Bireswarpur gave land and a considerable total of cash towards the institution of this faculty during this remote geographic area. various alternative benevolent persons as well as Late Kazem Ali Molla conjointly came forward and contributed labor, land and cash for this purpose. however, the first and tragic death of Sachindranath Mandal stopped the passion of the members of his family. however among a brief amount, his mother, widow, daughters, brothers, and nephews took up the challenge of building this faculty. the faculty was then named Gour Mohan Sachin Mandal Mahavidyalaya.
The University of urban center granted affiliation in 1968 for B.A.(Pass) course and B.Com(Pass) course in 1978. Honors courses were started in Bengali, government, and Education in 1985. In 1995 Honours Course in History was opened. Honors in Accountancy was introduced in 1996 and Philosophy in 1998. Honors in English and geographics were introduced in 2002. The Science Department came into existence in 2000. The growth of the science course in zoological science and biological science received University approval in 2006. these days their square measure courses like BA(Hons) in English, Bengali, History, Philosophy, government, Education and geographics, Sanskrit, B.Com( Hons) in occupation and Finance, B.Sc. (Hons) in arithmetic and B.Sc. (General) in Physics, Chemistry, arithmetic, Botany, Zoology, computing. ecology, and Food and Nutrition. the faculty has introduced Music, Journalism & Mass Communication, education as general subjects from the tutorial session of 2012-13. The C.U. has granted a contemporary extension of Affiliation in social science from this session 2013-14. the faculty runs a Study Centre of Netaji Subhas university and conducts business and career
