ONLINE PHD IN SOCIOLOGY
Ph.D. in sociology is awarded to recognize high achievements, independent research, & the use of scientific knowledge to provides insight into environmental & social factors that affect different groups of individuals. It varies from three years to five years to earn a doctorate degree in Sociology for a master’ degree holder.
The basic eligibility criteria are the Master’s Degree from an Institute recognized by UGC or any other qualification recognized as equivalent thereto in the Sociology as with at least 55% marks & qualifying National level entrance exam or institute level entrance exam. National level entrance exam such as UGC NET / UGC CSIR NET / GATE / SLET or institute entrance exam consist of written exam & personal interview while some institutes provide admissions on a merit basis for the Ph.D. in Sociology.

ADMISSION PROCESS
Admission to the Ph.D. course shall be based on the candidate marks obtained in entrance test conducted by respective department or school of particular university or institute. Those applicants who have completed GATE/NET/SET/ M.Phil/JRF Examination in the pertinent subject of the apex bodies as CSIR/UGC/ICAR/ICMR/DBT will be exempted from Entrance Test. While giving the exemption, the Departmental Committee of the university may consider research work/earlier Ph.D./experience done by the candidate. If an applicant already holds a Doctors degree in the relevant subject from a UGC Approved University or Institute, he/she may be exempted from entrance exam & pre Ph.D. coursework. After clearing both steps the applicant will be eligible to pay the program fee or registration fee. Only the predetermined number of students may be admitted to Ph.D. programmer.
