Ph.D. in Apparel and Textiles science is a doctoral-level Program. The doctoral program has been developed to enable applicants to a combined knowledge of apparel & textiles with an understanding of its application to a broader human perspective. The Ph.D. course looks at textiles & Apparel from a historical, behavioral, social & psychological perspective. Applicant centered on how human behavior intersects with marketing, distribution & consumption of textiles. In this program, candidates are prepared to use statistics & other methods to conduct original research in field. The program involves Methods of research in textile marketing, Consumer science of textiles, Theories of consumerism, Global markets for textiles & Global production of textiles.  

Ph.D. in Apparel and Textiles science Admission Process:

Admission to the Ph.D. course shall be based on the candidate marks obtained in the entrance test conducted by the respective department or school of a particular university or institute. Those students who have completed GATE/NET/SET/ M.Phil/JRF Examination in the pertinent subject of the apex bodies as CSIR/UGC/ICAR/ICMR/DBT will be exempted from Entrance Test. While giving the exemption, the Departmental Committee of the institute may consider research work/earlier Ph.D./experience done by the candidate. If a candidate already holds a doctorate degree in the relevant subject from a UGC Approved University or Institute, he/she may be exempted from the entrance exam & pre Ph.D. course work. After clearing both steps the candidate will be eligible to pay the program fee or registration fee. Only the predetermined number of students may be admitted to Ph.D. programmer.

Eligibility

Students who wants to take admitted to Ph.D. must have a post-graduate degree in the related field with at least 55% marks from a recognized institute & must have passed the national level entrance examination or institute level entrance examination. National level entrance exams like UGC NET / UGC CSIR NET / GATE / SLET or University entrance exams consist of written tests & personal interviews.
