Nongtalang College was Established in the year 1988, by the Nongtalang Village Durbar under the leadership of (Late) Shri. John Deng Pohrmen, Ex-Deputy Chief Minister of Meghalaya. The foundation Stone of the present College building was laid by (L) Shri. Purno A. Sangma, Chief Minister of Meghalaya on the 9th April 1988.The main objective of the Nongtalang Village Durbar in establishing the college is to provide education to the poor and needy students of the areas, whose parents could not afford to send their children to the town and Cities for higher studies.Nongtalang Village Durbar along with Durbar Manniew has donated 1 (One) hectare plot of land at Kermia - Jong - Iaw, at the outskirt of the Village for the College Permanent Residential Campus.
