ONLINE PHD IN PHILOSOPHY

The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program is a rigorous program of advanced & original research that prepares candidates for a lifetime of field-defining scholarship, intellectual leadership & teaching in area of Indian philosophy, Western philosophy & interdisciplinary courses. It aims to form scholars & academicians through constructive, critical engagement with Indian philosophical tradition in its complexity & diversity, & where appropriate, in the conversation with other intellectual traditions in their multiplicity & variety. The research place broadly include Indian Darshanas, Classical & folk arts, Architecture & Literature, History of Ancient Indian Sciences, Indian Polity & Economy, & Comparative Studies. The Ph.D. course nurtures excellence in (1) research and writing, & (2) teaching. This course provides doctoral candidates with the opportunity to develop expertise in the chosen discipline through the completion of supervised research projects.

Some of the major highlights of the program are as follows. 

ADMISSION PROCESS 

Admission to the Ph.D. course shall be based on the candidate marks obtained in the entrance test conducted by respective department or school of particular university or institute. That applicant who have completed GATE/NET/SET/ M.Phil/JRF Examination in the pertinent subject of the apex bodies as CSIR/UGC/ICAR/ICMR/DBT will be exempted from Entrance Test. While giving the exemption, the Departmental Committee of the university may consider research work/earlier Ph.D./experience done by the candidate. If an applicant already holds a Doctors degree in the relevant subject from a UGC Approved University or Institute, he/she may be exempted from entrance exam & pre Ph.D. coursework. After clearing both steps the applicant will be eligible to pay the program fee or registration fee. Only the predetermined number of students may be admitted to Ph.D. programmer.

• Migration Certificate (No objection certificate from the institute last attended)
• Passing/Degree certificate of last qualifying degree examinations
• Mark-list of last qualifying degree examinations
• Character certificate (from the head of the university from which the candidate has obtained his qualifying degree.
• Documentary proof for the date of birth
• Gap certificate (if applicable)
• Research Proposal *
• No objection certificate from the employer (if employed)
