The research degree course involves Solar Collectors and systems, Industrial Solar Thermal concentrators, Development of Carbon PV cell, Wind Energy, Low Cost Solar Drier, Fuel Cells, Thin film solar cells, Solar photovoltaic concentrator, Development of Engines for SVO, Coal Gasification, Biomass Gasifier Design, Liquid fuels from Biomass through the thermochemical and algal route, CNG Kit development, Stirling Engine Systems, Biodiesel, Biodiesel manufacturing process, Complex Fluid Dynamics, Flow of Granular Materials, Multiphase flows, Hybrid Systems for Rural Electrification, Passive Solar Architecture, Computational Fluid Dynamics, etc. The main aim of this course is to develop new energy technologies that would offer technological solutions and business opportunities. It is provide on part time basis by various college and university. The duration of this course is generally two year and its syllabus is divide in four semesters of six month each.
