Overview

M.Phil (Operational Research) is a postgraduate academic research degree course. The research degree course has been to equip applicant with concepts & paradigms of engineering and service systems. The master degree course offers a strong foundation of the various mathematical & computational models for decision making. M.Phil Operational Research program centered on advancing knowledge and research in areas such as mathematical optimization; design and analysis of algorithms; stochastic and probabilistic methods; statistical modeling and analysis; and computational and numerical methods. The duration of this course is generally 2 year and its syllabus is divide in 4 semesters of six moth each. The M.Phil program made up a powerful foundation for applicant in the field, so as to train them for higher qualification in the field. During the study time candidates introduce to various specific topics such as Linear Programming, Transportation problems, Assignment problems and Advanced topics on duality. In some universities after completing M.Phil candidates do not have to appear in Entrance Exam. At the end of this program candidates will be able to understand, formulate linear programming problems and applications. It is career presenting in nature and provide various job opportunities for candidates after its successful completion.
