Overview

M.Phil (Preventive & Social Medicine) is a master degree course. The research degree course has been designed to equip student with an in-depth knowledge about many epidemiological principles and measures taken to promote health, outbreaks, investigation & prevention of diseases. Preventive and Social Medicine is a newly introduced division of medical science, which centered on the measures taken to prevent many communicable and non-communicable diseases, more than finding a cure for them, and encourage health in the society. The duration of this course is generally two year and its syllabus is divide in four semesters of six month each. The goal of this course is to provide patient-centered comprehensive primary health care including follow-up and referral. M.Phil Preventive & Social Medicine program offer study in medical services ranging from therapeutic to rehabilitative health services, involving sociology, law, statistics, psychology, engineering and economics as well as clinical sciences and biological sciences. The degree course provide helps to the know-how of diagnosis and management of health issues with the science of public health practice and expertise of health communication. The master program made up a powerful foundation for applicant in the field, so as to train them for higher qualification in the field.
