Golaghat Polytechnic Overview

Golaghat Polytechnic is one of the Eleven Polytechnics established by the Government of Assam in 2017 under the Directorate of Technical Education. The institute offers three years diploma programme in three branches of Engineering- Mechanical, Civil and Biomedical with an intake capacity of 60 (sixty) students in each branch totaling upto 180 (one eighty). The institute is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and is affiliated to the State Council of Technical Education (SCTE), Assam. Admission to this diploma Engineering course is based on the Polytechnic Admission Test (PAT) conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Assam.

Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, the institute is located among lush greenery in the Ulutoli area of Furkating, Golaghat district. It is around 2 km away from Furkating Chariali, nearly 2.5 km from the nearest Furkating railway station and approx. 50 km from Rowriah Airport, Jorhat. The institute covers an area of 5.95 acres. The institute includes Administrative and Academic infrastructure comprising well-lit Classrooms, Laboratories, Computer Center, Workshops, Library, Seminar Hall, Playground, etc.
