Vidya Prasarak Mandal (VPM) is a head Educational Trust in Thane which was set up in August 1935. Ex. President Late Dr. V. N. Bedekar had a fantasy of making an "Island of Knowledge" (Jnandweepa) in Thane. He had an incredible prescience for youthful age of creating Thane city and need of instruction to transform this adolescent into productive members of society of India .With this solitary enthusiasm, and excited help from his partners, he prevailing with regards to acquiring it reality. Bandodkar College of Science was isolated from the Arts and Commerce College for managerial accommodation. 

B.N.Bandodkar is the ONLY Single Faculty Science College, associated to University of Mumbai.
