Swahid Peoli Phukan College Admission

The college aiming to impart higher education to rural disciples was established in 1970 in the rural ambience of the southern part of historic Sivasagar district, and named in the honour of Swahid Peoli Phukan, one of the earliest martyrs of Indian Freedom Movement with the endeavor of a handful and dedicated forerunners of greater Namti area and was affiliated to Dibrugarh University.Originally an Arts college with a few students and minimal infrastructure the college has marched a long way to become a full-fledged co-educational institution of higher education with all the streams of Arts, Science and Commerce, accommodating ample opportunities for all round development of the stakeholders. In addition to academics, the college equally emphasizes for co-curricular and extra-curricular activities for career advancement of the students. To infuse the sense of social responsibility and dedication the college initiates an environment that encourages the students to be connected deeply to the feelings of nationalism and to foster a spiritual and scientific temperament. During the last fifty years of ups and down, the college has produced a good number of best graduates and toppers of Dibrugarh University and sports persons of national and international repute and a galaxy of illustrious alumni.As former faculty member of the college, I am acquainted with the noble vision of the college.
